The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women, Miami Chapter is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 when a group of ten Puerto Rican women, residents of Miami-Dade County, came together to organize the local chapter. In accordance with the educational goals established in NACOPRW’s bylaws, a scholarship fund was created to provide financial assistance to young high school women of Puerto Rican origin or Puerto Rican descent who excelled in their studies and wanted to obtain a college degree. To date, more than two hundred scholarships have been awarded.
