Nicolas Viglucci is a Senior at Gables who is passionate about the Earth and loves to share that interest with others.

Q: What is your name and grade level?

A: My name is Nicolas Viglucci. I am a senior.

Q: What made you interested in joining this club?

A: I had always been interested in the environment and I figured Gables Earth would be a good way to make a difference and get community service hours.

Q: What is the purpose of Gables Earth?

A: The purpose of Gables Earth is to encourage Gables both as a community and a city to embrace more ecologically friendly methods of transportation and ways of living.

Q: What is your position in Gables Earth this year?

A: I am the president this year.

Q: Who is your sponsor this year?

A: Kelly Fraga. (Biology and Chemistry teacher).

Q: How long have you been holding this position?

A: I have been president for the entirety of this school year.

Q: What do you think is your club’s biggest achievement?

A: [Our] single biggest achievement is probably the installation of the bike rack just because we had a lot of red tape to jump over and the school never had a bike rack before and things kept getting stolen, so that helped.

Q: What new changes would you like to implement this year?

A: Since our recycling program kind of died last year, we are planning to restart that. And also improve some of the gardens in the school that are a little bit trashed.

Q: What events is Gables Earth doing this year?

A: We are doing events similar to those last year. The most common ones are the beach clean up, wood shop and garden maintenance. But we are going to be doing special ones that include projects with water conservation and biking safely.

Q: What do you want to say to Gables on behalf of Gables Earth?

A: You should join our club because it is really cool and we have a fun event every meeting and you get to save the Earth.
