Q: Please state your name, position and how many years you have been at Gables.

A: My name is Ms. Strickland. This is my first year at Gables and I’m the cafeteria manager.

Q: Were you born here in Miami?

A: Yes, I was.

Q: How did you find yourself at Gables?

A: I ended up coming out of training, and the workers ended up liking me and the administrators, and applied for a job and got it.

Q: What is your favorite and your least favorite part of your job?

A: Paperwork is my least favorite and the children are my favorite.

Q: What does a day in your life at work consist of?

A: Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. When ya’ll came in I was doing paperwork.Well, it’s fun, I try to make the work environment as fun as possible, but for the most part, paperwork.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Macaroni and cheese.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: Being a mom.

Q: Are there any future changes the students should except in the cafeteria?

A: More lines. I’m trying to get as many lines open because I know a lot of the children complain about how long the lines are, so I’m trying to open up more stations.
