Winter Break: How to Get Back in the Game
Dec 18, 2015
Winter break is meant to be a blissful and relaxing time. However, it can also be synonymous to never-ending winter packets, college application deadlines and projects. Although it is important to enjoy the holidays, it can also be crucial to take advantage of the free time in order to get back in the game in the nick of time before the semester ends.
If you need to get back in the game this winter break, here are some guidelines that could help:
-
Make a to-do list: It is key to know what you need to do. Grab pen and paper and jot down those things that cloud your mind.
- Prioritize: Create a list of your most important tasks to do, this will help motivate you to complete them in an orderly fashion.
- Clean and organize your workspace: Having a cluttered workspace can lead to a cluttered mind. By cleaning your workspace you give yourself space to complete your work in peace.
- Manage your time wisely: Sometimes it can be tempting to abuse free time by procrastinating. Set up a schedule of when where and how you will achieve your assignments or other duties.
- Create a study plan: Winter Break could be a key to catching up on your studies. Use the free time to get ahead in your classes ad review material you are not strong in. By using this time to study, you can relieve some of the pressure that comes along with the end of the semester.
-
Set apart time for yourself: No matter the time of year, you should have some time of mindfulness and reflection. Take advantage of the break to get to know yourself better-this will give you the strength to finish the semester on a high note.
- Plan for the future: Setting up a calendar or aplanner can be extremely helpful. You can choose to buy a monthly
planner or you can download apps on your phone such as The Homework App, myHomework student planner and pocket schedule.
