A lot can happen in half a century; to most current gables students, 50 years is over double the time they have been born. But for the class of 1966, the 50 year high school reunion is just around the corner.
Reunions, planned by the class president and other involved alumni, have been a staple for Gables since it opened its doors in 1951. The class of 1966 will be having theirs on the weekend of April 8th and 9th, 2016.
April 8th has been planned as a relaxed night at the Beach Club on key Biscayne with Shorty’s Bar-B-Q Catering. Saturday night, a more formal event, will include an open bar, dinner, and band, located at the Westin Colonnade.
Not just for the planned festivities, reunions are a time to reestablish dwindled relationships. It is expected for graduates to rekindle past as new and old connections are made.
