Meet Matthew Castano:
Matthew Castano is an accomplished senior in high school, actively involved in Cavs Connect, Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, the Future Educators of America, Future Business Leaders of America, the Academy of Finance, and serves on the board of Quill and Scroll as the head of competitions and planning. As the head of robotics and drone building, he leads teams in competitions, showcasing his technical skills and passion for innovation. In the 2024-2025 school year, Matthew will serve as the JROTC S5, taking on the roles of social media manager and photographer, where he will utilize his creativity to enhance the program’s outreach and engagement.
Outside of his many commitments, Matthew loves going on adventures and has a special affinity for animals. Whether he is exploring the great outdoors or capturing moments with his furry friends, he finds joy in the little things. With a strong commitment to excellence, Matthew’s leadership and dedication to service continue to make a positive impact in his school and community.
And remember, if you ever need a good laugh, just ask him why the robot went on a diet, because it had too many bytes!
Aidan Remedios, CavsConnect Staff Member
Aidan Remedios is a junior in the International Baccalaureate Program. This is his second year with CavsConnect, and he is extremely excited to be part of this publication. Born in India, Aidan moved to Miami in 2022. He loves music and is a certified Grade 8 pianist by the London College of Music. Currently, he is working towards completing his piano diploma and also produces music, which is available on multiple streaming platforms. Besides music, Aidan keeps fit by playing badminton, in which he placed third in the GMAC last year, as well as going to the gym and practicing calisthenics. His hobbies include watching football and supporting England and Manchester United. Aidan hopes to excel in school and in other extracurricular aspects of his life this year.
