What is Cav Crash?
Cav Crash is a nighttime pep-rally for clubs and grade levels to show their spirit during Homecoming week, and for individuals to show their talents.

Clubs:
All participating clubs/classes will be competing against one another for the tile of “Most Spirited.” Class officers will be performing a skit, song, dance, etc. demonstrating why Gables is the best high school in town. Clubs will participate in a spirit costume contest, guidelines may be discussed with Ms. Zaldivar (Room 9207).

Individuals:

All talent individuals will be competing for the title of “Cav Crash Talent Winner,” by demonstrating their talents in a skit, song, dance, etc. The winner will perform in the Annual Fall Frolics Show on November 25, 2014.

Rules and Guidelines:

1. All selected performers must report to the auditorium at 5:00 pm on the night of the show, September 22nd. Wristbands will be distributed at 5:00pm. Anyone who is late will pay the price of admission.
2. Any music used CANNOT contain any profanity or lewd language and must be turned it BEFORE dress rehearsal.
3. Any disrespectful actions or language toward another race, ethnicity, or school will not be tolerated and the offenders will face the responsibility of suspension from school. Additionally, vulgar language and/or words will result in the curtain being pulled in the middle of your act.
4. Tryouts are September 3-5 and will begin promptly at 2:40 pm. There is rehearsal on September 10th and 15th from 2:40pm-4:30pm in the auditorium. Dress rehearsal will take place September 19th and will start at 3:00 pm.
5. Attendance at ALL rehearsals is mandatory for participation.
6. Only those people listed on your application will receive a wristband.
7. Your piece needs to be performance ready at tryouts. DO NOT stand on stage and explain your piece.

Suggestions for Pieces:

1. Crowd appeal/entertainment.
2. Maximum of 3 minutes.
3. Assign a person to hold the microphone or else the audience will not be able to hear you.
4. Use props and costumes to make the piece more entertaining.
5. Remember…you are representing your school!!! SHOW YOUR SPIRIT!
