May the 4th Be With You
May 6, 2015
Over 35 years ago, the blockbuster movie Star Wars blew up the movie industry and left shoes no other movie has been able to fill. The epic space adventure franchise directed by George Lucas has 6 movies; focused on good vs. evil, family drama, action, adventure and romance. The first film series contains Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983). Soon after the release of the first Star Wars (Episode IV), a worldwide fan base had set root. 16 years later the prequel installment of Star Wars was released. This series includes Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
The famous line said by both General Dodonna and Han Solo, “May the force be with you”, has not only been a catchphrase for Star Wars enthusiast for years, but May 4th has been deemed Star Wars Day for none other than the hilarious (to some) pun.
Some spend this unofficial holiday having an insane movie marathon, watching the Family Guy remake by Seth MacFarlane, or dressing up as their favorite character. However you wish to spend Star Wars Day, may the forth be with you.
