Cuba Removed From U.S. Terror List
May 29, 2015
As or May 29, 2015, Cuba is no longer on the United States’ list of state sponsors of terrorism. This is not surprising news; Obama informed Congress of his plans and they had a 45 day window to vote on an opposition, which passed. This is a step in normalizing relations with Cuba for the United States after the 54 year old ban on Cuba that was created after the country’s communist revolution. According to Bloomberg Business, both countries plan on opening embassies; however, there is an ongoing debate that has yet to be solved regarding the rights of the embassy workers in Cuba.
