How Soon is Too Soon: Reusing Outfits
Nov 1, 2016
There comes a time in everyone’s life when they are faced with the dilemma of “how soon is too soon to recycle an outfit?” Luckily, here are the three rules on how and when to reuse an outfit!
The Monthly Rule: First things first, never repeat an outfit within a week of having worn it. Some people have very good memories, and likelier than not at least one of your friends is one of those people. So play it safe and stick to the monthly rule – that, and don’t recycle an outfit consecutively.
Cover Up: A great way to make an old outfit look (almost) new is to add new accessories. Try a jacket, new shoes, or even different jewelry. The smallest changes can give a recycled look new life, and make you look fabulous!
Mix & Match: Combining different articles of clothing to make new outfits is an effective way of recycling clothes. Not only are you making a new outfit all together, but you still get to wear that shirt or those pants that make you look amazing! Plus, there is no shame in recycling clothes.
It can sometimes feel like an outfit can make or break an event, but always remember that clothes are nothing more than just clothes. An outfit is what you make it, so if you feel confident, wear it!
