If there’s one thing that’s worth mentioning about the rising Miami food scene, it’s the plethora of up-and-coming restaurants in the Midtown area. From Harry’s Pizzeria to Sakaya Kitchen, these places are bringing the people of Miami delicious food at relatively good prices.

Located at 3918 N Miami Ave, Gigi’s sits right across from the Midtown Mall complex, so guests can shop and eat or eat and shop, the choice is really yours. An asian fusion diner, Gigi offers an array of foods that start at $2 and cap at $24. With a diverse menu providing delicious takes on interesting dishes, diners go to the restaurant curious and leave wholly satisfied.

The establishment itself is pretty sizable, and pretty clean. Tables are scattered across the room, along with a few seats lined up and down the lengthy bar. Another great aspect about Gigi is that if you can’t find a seat at a traditional table (either outside or inside), bar seating gives you a front row view into the kitchen, where your food is being prepared with skill and care. The walls are decorated with graffiti, which reminds everyone of the nearby Wynwood area and the Design District, filled with amazing street art that you can go and see right after a good meal and good service. The waiters are polite and efficient, so your wait isn’t usually long from the time you sit down to the time you are served, and if you do happen to have to wait, once in a while they’ll take pity on you and give you some free soft serve ice cream.

Two of the only downsides to Gigi is its proximity to a nightclub, and it’s overwhelming popularity during the evening. The nightclub, Barlot, is only two doors down, so if you’re into late night dining, make sure you’re into that Ultra-esque, beat banging music as well. As for the people, well, there’s not  a lot you can do to help the fact that Gigi is a hotspot for foodies. But if you don’t mind going there for lunch or early dinner, the crowds should be manageable.

Whether you’re into pork schnitzel, stroganoff, or maybe some bacon seasoned vegetables (brussels sprouts and cauliflower, to be exact), Gigi’s has what you want if you’re the kind of person who likes to be adventurous or just appreciates a good meal.
