For the past 17 years, Ultra Music Festival has brought together people from all over the world to enjoy electronic music. Every year, Ultra has increased not just in crowd size, but also in the number of DJs attending. Even more surprising is the fact that the stages get bigger and better as the years progress.

This year, over 150,000 people came together at Bayfront Park to listen to some of the greatest DJs in the world such as Tiesto, Avicii, Alesso, Nicky Romero, Paul Van Dyk, Bassnectar, David Guetta and Skrillex. Plus, Ultra surprised its so called “Ultranauts” with a guest performance by Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

Since this wild festival’s crowd increases every year, its security must do the same in order to ensure the best safety for every individual attending Ultra. For that reason, Ultra agreed with the City of Miami to put an age minimum of 18 in order to attend the festival. On the other hand, this led to several teens not being able to go, as well as the $500 tickets making it hard for some people to afford it.

“Ultra felt different not as crowded and the age limit restricted more kids from around our age to go. It was probably less crowded ’cause the age limit stopped them from going,” senior William Midence said.

Those who were able to attend said they had an unforgettable experience and they would go again next year. Ultra Music Festival also takes place in South Africa, Buenos Aires, South Korea, Europe, Japan, Ibiza, Chile and Brazil. It has truly brought happiness to thousands of people from all over the world.
