DeeAnne Montero is a rising junior in the International Baccalaureate program. She grew up in a very artistic family where everybody either took a part in singing, dancing, acting, painting, photography or film-making. Despite having love for those activities as well, DeeAnne is the only one who ever took an interest in writing.

By joining highlights, she aspires to develop skills in journalism and achieve her goal in becoming a writer for a professional publication. In addition to her career, she would like to continue traveling the world with her family and spread positivity by creating stories and short films of her destinations for those who don’t have the chance to experience the world on their own.

Being a student at Gables has provided her with opportunities that have helped her discover who she is and work towards her goals while still having fun and getting the most out of her high school experience. She is also a part of the girls’ water polo team, IBHS and NHS.
