Barbara Teixeira Da Silva, CavsConnect Staff Writer
Barbara Teixeira Da Silva is a junior in the International Baccalaureate program and has been a writer in CavsConnect for two years. Barbara has a love for service and helping others, she has been spotted building latrines in the rural community of Mexico de Maizal, Dominican Republic, attending beach cleanups on the shores of Key Biscayne and serving food on weekends at Lotus house, a local women’s shelter. Usually she can be spotted at home watching movies, hanging out with friends or sleeping. This year, she is looking forward to writing stories that people will like to read, enjoying her older sister’s company one last year before she leaves for college and putting her title of Vice-President of ModelUN to good use by organizing more meetings and taking the club to more competitions. In the future, Barbara wants to practice the four languages she speaks by traveling the world, continue helping people in need and hopefully surviving the IB program.
