Hoppin’ Into an Easter Family Day
Apr 18, 2014
One of the most looked forward to holidays by many families is Easter. Easter is a day where people can come together and have a day packed with fun and delicious food (and colorful plastic eggs). Families always have a great time celebrating Easter, whether they do so religiously or not.
Easter Activities for All Families
Religions such as Christianity and Judaism celebrate Easter as the death and resurrection of Christ. They enjoy their day by going to church mass or to temple and then spending time with their families.
People may celebrate Easter by doing other things to enjoy their day. There are a few activities around Miami that can be done with loved ones, such as:
- Hosting an Easter egg hunt – Many families decide to entertain little ones with an exciting yet simple Easter egg hunt.
“When I was little, my neighbors would have Easter egg hunts, which my brother and I went to as well. It was a nice childhood memory,” freshman Guneet Moihdeen said.
- A day at the park – Some decide to take their Easter experience outside and get some fresh air. Picnics are a fun way to celebrate Easter outside of home.
“I usually just celebrate Easter by helping my little cousins pick out eggs in the backyard of one of my family members. It’s mostly fun because of all the candy we get afterwards. Though the idea of celebrating Easter at the park sounds great,” freshman Gabriela Vega said.
